Retail and Job Skills

The major purpose of this course is to prepare students with the skills required for employment within retail sales. Through direct instruction and practical application, students will learn entry level skills for retail and develop their pre-employment skills. Skills taught include:

Inventorying
Product Display
In-Store Advertising
Purchase Transactions
Business Machines (e.g. Cash Register, Calculator, etc.)
Basic Accounting
Marking, Tagging, and Identifying Items (name, size, price, condition)
Customer and Personal Service
Product Sales
Resume Writing
Interviewing
Job Searching
